ABOUT

 

Caz attained her degree in Speech Pathology in 1997 from the University of Sydney.  

 

Her career has included a variety of specialty areas, including home & school based therapy services for children with mild to severe developmental disabilities.  Her skills include specialised assessment and intervention of complex communication difficulties, including language, literacy problems. 

 

Caz has worked for the Department of Ageing and Disability in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs where she worked with children and adults with moderate to severe developmental disabilities in schools, preschools, respite care units, adult group homes and nursing homes.  She has vast experience working with complex cases in the areas of communication and swallowing.

 

Caz later joined the Rehabilitation Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead where she became a tertiary specialist & senior clinician in NSW in Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).  Her role included training other Speech Pathologists, teachers and parents in the effects of ABI on communication, language and swallowing.  She was involved in several research projects and has had a decade of experience in this area. 

 

Working in hundreds of schools, she is passionate about achieving the best possible results from her therapy. This has included complex teacher training, and the development of specialist literacy programs in schools, following a comprehensive assessment of students.  Caz has run school group literacy programs with proven results.
